Dear editor, and readers of the Journal.
Did I read that Cookshire’s historic Anglican church is not protected from demolition? I live outside the region but visited this breath-taking stone piece of history during an open house recently. What a gem! With a new owner on the horizon, it seems incredible to think demolition is possible.

I know there is a housing crisis and so many other reasons a developer could use as arguments for building a new structure there. Would Council, the MRC, or even the province permit the destruction of Quebec’s history? Say it ain’t so!
